Enrolment
Conditions:
- Full
payment is required with the enrolment/ re-enrolment form.
A place cannot be confirmed unless payment has been made.
- BACS transfers should be paid to Account : 02559715 Sort code: 30-91-25 Account name: MISS E SULLIVAN T/A JELYFISH SWIM SCHOOL
- Cheques should be made payable to 'Jellyfish Swim School'.
- Cheques can be posted to 84, Hurst Farm Road, East Grinstead, West Sussex, RH19 4DH.
- Cash must be placed in a sealed envelope with the candidates name written on the front and to be handed to Emma Sullivan.
- Places
are allocated on a first come first served basis. Demand
can be high so prompt registration is advised.
- All
parents and swimmers must agree and adhere to the Jellyfish
Swim School Code of Conduct.
Waiting
List:
- There
are maximum numbers for each session. Should classes be
full then a waiting list will be taken into operation.
- As
soon as a new place becomes available, in the appropriate
ability level, you will be offered that place.
- Please
inform the Jellyfish Swim School as soon as possible if
you no longer wish to be kept on the list.
Cancellation:
- All
requests to cancel membership must be made in writing with
supporting medical evidence if relevant.
- Cancellations
received up to 14 days prior to the start of the course
will be subject to a cancellation charge of 20% of the total
cost of the course.
- Cancellations
received up to the start of the course will be subject to
a cancellation charge of 50% of the total cost of the course.
- No
refunds can be given for cancellation received once the
course has started unless we are able to secure a new swimmer.
- Jellyfish
Swim School reserves the right to change or cancel a course
at any time. Arrangements will be made to reschedule where
possible.
Staff:
- All
Instructors are qualified and experienced swimming teachers
and hold the relevant ASA certificate(s).
- The
Instructor to swimmer ratio is high, ensuring your child
will receive above average attention.
- As
some physical contact with your child is unavoidable all
staff adhere to the ASA Child Protection Procedures.
- Jellyfish
Swim School reserves the right to replace advertised coaches
or programs where unavoidable.
- If
an Instructor is unwell or cannot attend a session, Jellyfish
Swim School will endeavor to provide a cover teacher.
Other
Issues:
- Jellyfish
Swim School does not accept responsibility for any damage
or loss of property or articles left on the premises.
- Jellyfish
Swim School shall not be held responsible for any personal
injury or fatality that may occur.

Jellyfish Swim School Code of Conduct
Swimmers:
- Arrive
for the teaching session on time.
- If
you have a medical problem, or for example, use an inhaler,
please tell your Instructor.
- The
pool should not be used by persons who have consumed food
within 1.5 hours.
- Babies
must have had their 3 months injections before they can
be allowed to enter the pool.
- To
avoid injury the wearing of spectacles in the water by a
swimmer during a session is not recommended. Care of spectacles
is the responsibility of the parent/ guardian.
- Swimming
goggles, including those with ophthalmic prescription lenses,
may be worn at the wearers own risk.
- Jewellery
can be a hazard and shall not be worn during swimming.
- All
swimmers must wear suitable swimwear. For babies that are
still in nappies please use 'aquanappies'.
- Only
enter the pool once your Instructor has told you to.
- Listen
to what your Instructor tells you. If you don't understand,
please ask.
- The
following action consists as disorderly behaviour: running,
diving, jumping, ducking, fighting, bombing, shouting and
throwing items. If behaviour persists you will be asked
to leave.
- Inflatable
play structures, toys and other types of floating platforms
are not permitted. Jellyfish Swim School is permitted to
have such items for the use of swimming tuition and remain
the property of the Swim School.
Parents
(based on the Sports Council's Code for Parents):
- For
the safety of themselves and others, children under the
age of 16 must be accompanied at all times by a responsible
adult.
- Personal belongings are
left at the owners risk.
- Shoes
must be removed before entering on to pool-side.
- No food, glassware or crockery is allowed within the pool premises. Plastic/ non-breakable drinking vessels may be allowed at the staff's discretion.
- Remember,
children are involved in this sport for their enjoyment
and achievement not yours.
- Be
realistic about your child's abilities and do not over-expect.
Much harm can be done when children consistently fall short
of their parent's expectations.
- Be
helpful to your child but do not coach him/ her. A little
knowledge can be dangerous. The Instructors are there to
do the coaching and have been doing so for many years. If
you think there is a problem speak to the Instructor first.
Pool
Safety (safety procedures will be adapted for any situation):
- In
the event of an emergency the person in charge will blow
a single long blast on a whistle.
- All
swimmers and spectators will immediately stop what they
are doing and wait quietly for further instructions.
- Should
it be necessary to clear the pool, when the instruction
is given, all swimmers will move to the sides of the pool,
leave the water and stand back from the side. Swimmers will
remain standing at all times.
- Should
it be necessary to evacuate the building no attempt should
be made to recover possessions from the changing rooms or
anywhere else within the building.
- There
are a set of procedures for evacuation. In all instances
where it is necessary to evacuate the building a member
of staff will take charge once the swimmers have left the
water.
- A
statuary disclaimer must be displayed by the pool at the
point of access together with safety sinage.
- Lifesaving
equipment is provided on pool side including: Emergency
Alarm (linked to club reception), CCTV (linked to reception
and monitored by staff), Reach Pole x 2, Throw Rope x 2
and Life Buoys x 2.
- Lifeguards
must receive proper training with the minimum standard being
RLSS Pool Lifeguarding Qualification or the Nautical Aquatic
Rescue Standard (NARS). Qualifications must be kept up to
date.
- All
Instructors must hold the ASA Teacher Certificate and be
a registered Member of the ITSC.
